ALLERGIC TO POLLEN?

Spring is amazing, the ultimate promise of brighter days ahead… Well, for some of us at least; for others, it is a grand promise of itchy eyes, a stuffy nose, and sneezing as if your life depended on it. Darn annoying, no doubt…
…especially annoying when all you want to do is run! Peak allergy season can do a serious number on your respiratory system, especially as your breaths deepen during your run.

How can we deal with it?

It ain’t easy! Firstly, pinpointing what it is that you react to the most, pay a visit to the good old doc! Important to remember is that allergy meds can have a dehydrating effect. Secondly, slowing down your pace can ease the strain on your respiratory system.

But for some, this just won’t be enough. There is also a need for shielding the areas most sensitive to allergy exposure - the eyes, mouth, and nose. Try wearing wrap-around glasses to protect your eyes. As for the respiratory passages, we recommend a protective FaceMask. Make sure that the mask is made for motion and doesn’t put extra strain on your lungs.
